Terms and Conditions

Plain English Summary: TapTipping is an Australian cashless tipping platform for small businesses, sole traders and company platforms. We charge a small tiered platform fee on each transaction. Recipients keep the majority of every tip. No personal financial details are exchanged between tippers and recipients. All payments are processed securely by Stripe.

1. About TapTipping

TapTipping is a digital tipping platform operated by Pet Burial Boxes (ABN: 58600185440), registered in Australia. TapTipping enables customers to send voluntary monetary tips to registered recipients via QR code, without exchanging personal or financial details.

2. Nature of Agreement

This is a non-exclusive, no lock-in agreement between TapTipping and any individual or entity who registers for or uses the platform. Either party may terminate this agreement at any time with no penalty.

3. Platform Fee Structure

TapTipping charges a tiered platform fee on each successful transaction as follows:

• Tips $0.50 – $9.99: 5% platform fee
• Tips $10.00 – $49.99: 3.5% platform fee
• Tips $50.00 and above: 2.5% platform fee

Stripe payment processing fees (1.75% + $0.30 per transaction) are deducted before payout. These fees are standard Stripe Australia rates and are separate from TapTipping's platform fee. Recipients will always receive the majority of every tip sent to them.

4. No Personal Details Exchanged

TapTipping does not share any personal financial information between tippers and recipients. Tippers do not see recipient bank details, BSB, or account numbers. Recipients do not see tipper card details. All payment processing is handled exclusively by Stripe, a licensed and PCI-compliant payment facilitator.

5. Recipient Verification and Compliance

All recipients must verify their identity and bank account through Stripe's secure onboarding process before receiving any funds. This verification is a federal compliance requirement under Australian financial services regulations and anti-money laundering obligations. TapTipping does not store or access recipient bank details directly — all verification is managed by Stripe.

6. How Tipping Works

Recipients register for a TapTipping account and receive a unique QR code. Customers scan the QR code, enter a tip amount, and complete payment via Stripe's secure checkout. No app is required for the tipper. Funds are deposited to the recipient's verified bank account on Stripe's standard payout schedule.

7. Prohibited Use

TapTipping may not be used for anything other than voluntary gratuity payments. The platform must not be used for goods purchases, debt repayment, money transfers, or any unlawful purpose. TapTipping reserves the right to suspend or terminate any account used in breach of these terms.

8. Privacy and Data Security

TapTipping complies with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). We collect only the information necessary to operate the platform. We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties except Stripe for payment processing purposes. All data is stored securely.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TapTipping is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from use of the platform. TapTipping's total liability in any circumstance is limited to the platform fees paid in the preceding 30 days.

10. Dispute Resolution

Users must first contact support@taptipping.com.au. If unresolved, disputes are subject to the laws of Australia, Australia. TapTipping will work in good faith to resolve any issues promptly.

11. Amendments

TapTipping reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time. Registered users will be notified of material changes by email. Continued use of the platform after notification constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
